It’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted anything. Where did I go?

Stuffed Peppers

Weight loss is so much more than just burning more calories than you eat. It’s mental as well. I’m addicted to food (you can read more about it here), which feeds into my mental health and ultimately, my depression. If I don’t lose enough weight, I get depressed and start eating more. Which spirals into me completely reverting my eating habits from fresh fruits and vegetables to processed garbage.

A big part of my blogging journey is weight loss. Obviously. My site is called “Meg’s Healthy World”. It makes sense that I tackle my health issues and try to resolve them once and for all. But in my mind, my site is about losing weight primarily and mental health secondarily.

Maybe I have them mixed up…

Maybe I need to address my mental health issues before I work on my weight loss. Because the other way around just isn’t working. The constrains of blogging (the constant work, the air of perfection, putting my entire life on display just to get a few more followers) have gotten to me over the last couple of months and I’m sure my readers have noticed my absence as well.

My Biggest Issue

You see, my biggest issue with my site is speed. But the only way to fix it is to pay someone to do so. But I lack the funds to pay someone. Unless I can get more income from my blog to fix that issue. Which the only way to really increase my income on my blog is to increase my speed. Do you see the circle jerk of that problem?

Way too many people get into blogging just for the money. Some people think it’s easy money and jump on the band wagon. But I’ve come to the point where I need to step away from what everyone else is doing and be the weirdo in the corner. I’ve never really had success with fitting it- why should the blogging community be any different?

Making A Change

This is where I’m pivoting my blog. Instead of focusing on making more money, I’m focusing on just writing. That’s really the only reason I started this thing to begin with. I’m taking part in a 100 days of blogging challenge, hosted by Amanda at www.bloggingfreedom.org. I’ll be posting a new post every day for 100 days.

As far as my weight loss goals are concerned, I have a program that I started a couple of days ago. It’s a six week program that I’ll be reviewing here, so keep an eye out for that. Besides that, I’m just going to focus on moving (add me on Fitbit! My email is megan@megshealthyworld.com) and eating decent. Otherwise, I’m focusing on my mental health. Summer hits me hard in the nuts and dammit I want to enjoy summer!

I have one big change happening in my life, but it’s too early to say anything. I’m waiting until it’s finalized and finished before making the announcement, so keep an eye out for that as well.
